Our mission is to ensure EVERYONE learns at HIGH-LEVELS in a safe, supportive environment.

Harkness Highlight

Our 6th graders have officially promoted from elementary to middle school and, as always, made a grand entrance to the ceremony by traveling through a tunnel of preschool through 5th grade  Vikings!  We are proud of how much they've grown here at Harkness and excited for their new adventures in 7th grade and beyond.

-Important Reminders-

Emotional Regulation Tools Donation Drive-  We are committed to ensuring a safe, supportive environment here at Harkness and want our students to learn strategies to both identify and regulate their emotions when they have big feelings.  Our goal is for each classroom, along with our office and after school program, to have an emotional regulation toolbox.  Please click HERE to view our Amazon Wish List and purchase items to donate if you're able.  THANK YOU!

Volunteers/ Chaperones NEEDED-  We desperately need parents/ guardians to become official volunteers so you can be chaperones on field trips.  We would like to take our students on more field trips but cannot do so without YOU!  Please stop by the office to pick-up a volunteer packet and talk with Ms. Debbie or Ms. Larissa about the process.

2024/2025 School Year BEGINNING EARLY-  The State Board of Education (SBE) approved SCUSD’s request for a waiver of the penalty for not providing the minimum number of instructional days and minutes during the 2021-2022 school year.  Approval of the waiver means we will be adding eight (8) instructional days to the 2024-2025 calendar and moving the first day of school to Monday, August 19, 2024. Additionally, 8 days will be added to the beginning of the 2025-2026 school calendar.

Featured Announcement- Our Harkness Elementary instructional team was recently featured on a Podcast about Professional Learning Communities and how meaningful teacher collaboration is leading to high-levels of learning for all. This is year two of the Intensive Assistance Model with CCEE.
