Reading Partners

Reading Partners is new program at Harkness.  They provide additional reading support for qualified students.  If you are interested in having your child receive more support in reading, please see Ms. Julia Glick in the office.  You can also ask your child’s teacher to make a referral to the Reading Partners program.

Making After School Time Enriching, Reading, and Successful

Monday – Friday

The MASTERS after school program offers enrichment activities, recreation, literacy training, and homework assistance to H.W. Harkness Elementary students in 1st through 6th grade only.  The program runs after school to 6:00 pm each school day. There is no charge for families to enroll their children in the program.  Please contact Ms. Z at (916) 694-4311 or email for more information.

Why is there a Site Council?

All elementary schools receiving Federal and State categorical funds are required to have School Site Councils.  Half of the Council members are school staff; the majority of this group must be classroom teachers, classified staff, and parents.
